Dr Bojana Obradović, Professor at FTM, obtained her BSc and MSc degrees in chemical engineering at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade in 1990 and 1993, respectively. The second MSc degree she obtained at the Department of Chemical Engineering, TUFT’S University, USA in 1996. She carried on her doctoral research at the same Department in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology and in 1999 she obtained the PhD degree in chemical engineering at the TUFT’S University. Since the year 2000, Bojana Obradovic is employed at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, where she was appointed Full Professor in 2010. In the period 2006-2012, she was appointed the Vice Dean for Doctoral Studies at the same Faculty. She was a visiting scientist two times at MIT, USA, then at the Columbia University, USA, and she has also visited two times the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Cagliari, Italy, as a visiting professor. In 2019 and 2021 she has been appointed a visiting professor at the University of Eastern Piedmont Amedeo Avogadro, Italy. Scientific and professional interests of Dr Obradovic comprise multidisciplinary fields including chemical, biochemical and biomedical engineering especially focusing on biomimetic bioreactors and creation of bioactive, physiologically relevant environments for cell and tissue cultures. Dr Obradovic is author of 15 scientific chapters, more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, a number of papers presented at national and international scientific conferences as well as 3 patents. She is the editor of one international scientific book. Her research articles have been cited over 2300 times without self-citations. ORCID 0000-0002-7276-0442, Scopus Author ID 56351418100. She is a member of several national professional societies as well as of the Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine International Society, TERMIS, in which she was a Member of the Continental Chapter Council: Europe from 2011 till 2013. Since the year 2016, Dr Obradovic is the Editor-in-Chief of the international scientific journal Hemijska industrija (https://www.ache-pub.org.rs/index.php/HemInd/index). Since the year 2016, she is a member of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia.
Dr Obradovic has been the coordinator of two international scientific projects (Eureka Е!6749, 2012-2014; Bilateral collaborative S&T project of the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Slovenia, 451-03-3095/2014-09/28, 2014-2015), the national coordinator of 1 international scientific project (SNSF grant IB73B0-111016/1, 2005-2008) and she has been participating in more than 20 international and national scientific projects as well as several collaborative projects with industry.
