Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy has actively participated this year again in the programs organized within the European Researchers’ Night presenting activities within the ExcellMater and Premurosa projects. Jelena Petrović and Ivana Banićević have conducted an interactive demonstration titled “Exceptional materials for our health” showing how to make alginate-based scaffolds for cultures of cells while the youngest visitors had the chance to make alginate hydrogel fibers by themselves!
“Researchers in schools” is one of the initiatives organized within the European Researchers’ Night which comprises several programs aiming to connect more closely science and education by bringing researchers in schools. In one of these programs, “Science in the class”, researchers present their projects and research results to pupils in primary and secondary schools. This year, Jasmina Stojkovska gave a lecture “Tumor engineering as a strategy for novel anticancer drug screening” at the Technical school “Mileta Nikolić” in Aranđelovac.
