Three FTM research teams have been successful in the PRIZMA call of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, two of which are participating in the ExcellMater project. Out of 660 project proposals submitted to this call, 97 projects in all scientific areas have been approved for funding over the next three years. The successful biomaterials related FTM projects are “Novel hybrid biomimetic macroporous composites with tuned biodegradability, improved osteointegration and anticancer properties for bone tissue regeneration – HyBioComBone” coordinated by Đorđe Veljović in the area Technical and Technological Sciences and “Biomimetic tumor engineering to enhance drug discovery – BioengineeredTumor” led by Bojana Obradović in the area Biomedical Sciences. The third successful FTM project is “Electrochemical production of green hydrogen with membrane less electrolyzer and decreased energy consumption – EcoH2” coordinated by Branimir Grgur. The total budget of the program is 25 million euros provided by the Republic of Serbia (Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation), through a World Bank loan with implementation support, and the European Union, through a grant contribution. The program and approved projects were presented at the event “Through the PRISM of science” organized by the Science Fund on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
